Yeshua (Jesus) Distinguishes Himself From YHVH


This is a list of passages where Jesus distinguishes himself from YHVH, his Father.

Matt. 7:21
Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter into the kingdom of Heaven, but the ones who do the will of My Father in Heaven.
Matt.10:32
Then everyone who shall confess Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in Heaven.
Matt. 11:25
Answering at that time, Jesus said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of Earth, because You hid these things from the sophisticated and cunning and revealed them to babes.
Matt. 16:27
For the Son of man is about to come with His angels in the glory of His Father. And then “He will give reward to each according to his actions.”
Matt. 20:23
And He said to them, Indeed you shall drink My cup, and you shall be baptized with the baptism with which I am baptized; but to sit off My right and off My left hand is not Mine to give, but to those for whom it was prepared by My Father.
– This shows that Jesus is subject to Jehovah.
Matt. 22:41-45
But the Pharisees having been gathered, Jesus questioned them, saying, What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is He? They say to Him, David’s. He said to them, Then how does David in Spirit call Him Lord, saying, “The Lord said to my Lord, Sit on My right until I place Your enemies as a footstool for Your feet?” Then if David calls Him Lord, how is He his son? And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day to question Him any more.
-This is a quote from Psalms 110:1 “A Psalm of David. A statement of Jehovah to my Lord: Sit at My right hand, until I place Your enemies as Your footstool.”
Matt. 23:9
And call no one your father on earth, for One is your Father, the One in Heaven.
Matt. 23:39
For I say to you, In no way shall you see Me from now on, until you say, “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.”
-The quoted text comes from Psalms 118:26.
Matt. 26:64
Jesus said to him, You said it. I tell you more. From this time you shall see the Son of man sitting off the right hand of power, and coming on the clouds of the heavens.
-The “power” is Jehovah.
Mark 8:38
For whoever may be ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father, along with the holy angels.
Mark 10:40
But to sit off My right and off My left is not Mine to give, but for whom it has been prepared.

Mark 12:24-27
And answering, Jesus said to them, Do you not err because of this, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God? For when they rise again from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels in Heaven. But concerning the dead, that they are raised, have you not read in the book of Moses, as God spoke to him at the Bush, saying, “I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob”? He is not the God of the dead, but God of the living. Therefore, you greatly err.
Mark 12:29
And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is : “Hear, Israel. The Lord our God is one Lord,
-This is taken from Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our God is one Jehovah.”
Mark 14:62
And Jesus said, I AM! And you will see the Son of man sitting off the right hand of power, and coming with the clouds of the heaven.
-The greek phrase translated as “I AM” here would be better translated as “I am he” as it is translated everywhere else in the New Testament.
Luke 4:17-19
And the scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And unrolling the book, He found the place where it was written: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me. Because of this He anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me” to heal the brokenhearted, “to preach remission to captives and new sight to the blind,” to send away the ones having been crushed in deliverance, “to preach an acceptable year of the Lord.”
-This is quote from Isaiah 61:1-2.
Luke 9:48,
and said to them, Whoever receives this child on My name receives Me. And whoever receives Me receives Him who sent Me. For the one being least among you all, this one shall be great.
Luke 10:16
The one hearing you hears Me, and the one rejecting you also rejects Me, and the one rejecting Me also rejects the One having sent Me.
Luke 10:21
In the same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Spirit, and said, I praise You, Father, Lord of Heaven and of earth, that You hid these things from the sophisticated and cunning and revealed them to babes; yes, Father, because so it was pleasing before You.
Luke 20:41-43
And He said to them, How do they say the Christ is David’s son? Even David himself said in the Book of Psalms, “The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand until I place Your enemies as a footstool of Your feet.”

Luke 23:46
And crying with a loud voice, Jesus said, Father, “into Your hands I commit My spirit.” And saying this, He breathed out the spirit.
-Jesus is quoting Psalms 31:5 “Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O Jehovah, God of truth.”
Luke 24:49
And, behold, I send forth the promise of My Father on you. But you sit in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
John 4:23
But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. For the Father also seeks such ones that worship Him.
John 4:34
Jesus said to them, My food is that I should do the will of Him who sent Me, and that I may finish His work.

And the One who sent Me is with Me. The Father did not leave Me alone, for I do the things pleasing to Him always.

Jesus answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, whom you say is your God.
John 9:4
It is necessary for Me to work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night comes when no one is able to work.
John 10:29
My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all, and no one is able to pluck out of My Father’s hand.
John 10:36
do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, You blaspheme, because I said, I am Son of God?
John 11:41
Then they lifted the stone where the dead one was laid. And Jesus lifted His eyes upward and said, Father, I thank You that You heard Me.
John 12:26
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will also be. And if anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:28
Father, glorify Your name. Then a voice came out of the heaven: I both glorified it, and I will glorify it again.
-Jehovah talked to His son in the presence of witnesses.
John 12:44
But Jesus cried out and said, The one believing into Me does not believe into Me, but into the One sending Me.
John 12:49
For I did not speak from Myself, but He who sent Me, the Father, He has given Me command, what I should say, and what I should speak.
John 12:50
And I know that His command is everlasting life. Then what things I speak, as the Father has said to Me, so I speak.
John 13:20
Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who receives whomever I may send receives Me; and the onewho receives Me receives the One who sent Me.
John 13:31
Then when he had gone out, Jesus said, Now the Son of man was glorified, and God was glorified in Him.
John 14:16

I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.

As the Father loved Me, I also loved you; continue in My love.
John 15:15
I no longer call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his lord does. But I called you friends, because all things which I heard from My Father I made known to you.

You have not chosen Me, but I chose you out and planted you, that you should go and should bear fruit, and your fruit remain, that whatever you should ask the Father in My name, He may give you.
John 15:24
If I did not do the works among them which no other did, they had no sin. But now they both have seen and also have hated Me and My Father.
John 15:26
And when the Comforter comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, that One will witness concerning Me.
John 16:3
And they will do these things to you because they do not know the Father nor Me.

and concerning righteousness, because I am going to the Father, and you no longer see Me;

A little while and you do not see Me. And again a little while , and you will see Me, because I go away to the Father.

for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God.

I came out from the Father and have come into the world; I leave the world again and go to the Father.

Behold, an hour is coming, and now has come, that you are scattered, each one to hisown things, and you will leave Me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
John 17:1
Jesus spoke these things and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may also glorify You,
John 17:3
And this is everlasting life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.
John 20:17
Jesus said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and My God, and your God.
John 20:21
Then Jesus said to them again, Peace to you. As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.
